Nexschools, a leading edu media platform and training company, revealed the successful completion of the first batch of trainees for its new course offering, the ‘Cyber Warrior Student Ambassador’ course. Five participants completed the new course offering, which took place at the CM International School, Pune.
The program has been designed to help address cyber safety skills for children to empower students to think critically, behave safely, and participate responsibly in digital world.
The everyday examples and interactive activities make the training interesting and fun for children. All the certificate courses and programs have an online and offline model. They are all designed for deep diving and learning by doing beyond lectures and talks. Now the NexSchools is offering the courses fully online due ongoing pandemic.
The courses are age appropriate, they are imparted in three age groups for primary schoolers ages 8 to 10 years, middle schoolers 11 to 13 years and 14 and above.
“Kids are using every gadget from as early as Preschool, with little imagination about the impact – good and bad in their lives. Given the speed at which technology moves and how slow the parents and schools have been able to react, a lot of them must play catch up now.” Mradula Singh, Founder & CEO NexSchools.
The training also covers the digital media literacy and blogging. Combining digital literacy and blogging equips the children in reaping the benefits of the digital media, teaches new way of communication and prepares for paradigm shift towards booming linguistic careers.
To motivate everyone to stay safe NexSchools offers participation in annual flagship ‘Lil Bloggers Contest’ for blogging to children, which is open now on NexSchools dot com.
“There are ever increasing number of cyber crimes and host of online threats posed in the online world. Education is the best defence in the cyber world. Managing things happening online and controlling digital footprint has become as critical as building a good resume while maintaining healthy social and emotional wellbeing.”, says Mradula Singh, Founder of NexSchools.
There are about 416 million children under the age of 18 years, the explosion of mobile phone and access to internet means that significant number of children are using the internet. Lack of information about online safety and cyber safety skills make them vulnerable to online threats such as cyber bullying, online abuse, age-inappropriate content and so on; making it issue of national concern.
The new offering by NexSchools seems both timely and strategic in building the new generation of learners who can combat the new threats in growing threats in today’s connected world.
“Most schools globally are working on online learning model looking at the school closure due to COVID-19 pandemic has made it more imperative for young children to learn the best online safety practises. The schools, educators and parents should all come together to empower the new generation. I am glad that screen time, education and learning can go hand in hand with online safety for the Cyber Warriors.” adds Mradula Singh.
