NexSchools Partners with Takorama Online International Children’s Film Festival, under the patronage of UNESCO. It brings a free online short film festival for teachers, students and children around the world.
NexSchools has partnered with the International Film Festival Takorama, under the patronage of UNESCO. The festival of short films addresses the theme of solidarity, tolerance, respect for others and sustainable development.
The film festival has come in the time when India is facing very difficult situation and children are all home bound. This international festival is exploring the theme of humanism and ecology, entirely free of charge and without advertising, with the aim of enabling children to stay in contact and pursue schooling activities at home. The films are available in 20 languages including Hindi, Bangla and English.
The objective of the festival is to offer children original short films on the theme of solidarity in a free and educational context. Each short film is accompanied by a pedagogical sheet. After watching the short films, in a positive dimension in this difficult period of COVID-19 for children, each child gives his/her opinion and votes for his/her favourite film.
The festival is open from March 1 to June 25, 2021.
It is completely free and is open to teachers from all over the world and their students between 3 and 18 years old.
15 short films are organized into 5 age categories from 3 to 18 years old.
The younger children category starts from 3+, 6+, 9+, 12+ and 15+

The preschool, primary and secondary school teachers are especially recommended to register their classes free.
How International Film Festival Takorama Works for the Teachers/Schools
The films are animated silent short films (without words but with music).
After registration, teachers receive links to watch the films and educational activities dedicated to understanding the films.
Teachers can then watch the films and do the educational activities in class, but they can also email their students the viewing links and the student worksheets, which contain only the questions.
The "teacher" worksheets contain the questions and an example of a possible answer.
After watching the films, each child votes for their favourite film and informs their teacher of their choice.
Teachers can then communicate the result of their class' vote on the festival's voting page which they also receive when they register.
The festival is open to all, even if it was designed mainly for teachers.
Parents, homeschoolers, library, a hospital can also register a group of children and participate in the festival.
Parents can also register their children directly.
Objective of the international Film Festival Takorama
An international festival exploring the theme of "solidarity".
During the festival, the children are invited to vote for their favorite short film but also to participate in educational activities.
Beyond the cinematographic and artistic education, the festival aims to assert the educational dimension of cinema by positioning it at the side of literature and painting as a resource liable to accompany and support the teachers as a whole and to allow the children to perceive animated images not only as an entertainment but also as a communication tool.
The festival, aimed at children around the world is available in 20 languages. The festival is presented by Films Pour Enfants and in partnership with UNESCO, UNDOC, UNESCO- MIL Alliance, Réseau Canopé Institut français, The NPO 3-6-9-12, CITIA, Cité de l'image en mouvement d'Annecy, The National Centre of Audiovisual Media and Communication (EKOME), The NEMOLCHI & NexSchools
