I am passionate about football. There was a time when I didn’t know how to play and thought it to be just another game. My friends inspired me to play this wonderful game. Now I kniow it one of the most popular and loved games in the world. Not many people know about the origin and some interesting facts related to football. So hop in my blog post to learn more.
Origin of Football: An ancient Chinese ball game named Cuju, was played as early as 2nd and 3rd century BC. People enjoyed kicking the ball for thousands of years in the hurly-burly game.
The game of football we see today was created in 1863. It was branched from the game football rugby.
The birth of pro-football happened when the players were paid for playing the match.
During World War II also this game was played and called ‘The Death Match’. It was controlled by Germany.
It is also one of the fastest games. A football player runs about 15 kilometers in a single game. So just, imagine the fitness of the players.
My facts will not be complete if I don’t mention about the king of football Pele – the youngest player at the age of 17 years to win the Football World Cup.

Now Federation Internationale de Football Association(FIFA) World Cup is round the corner. The fever is on and I am waiting for it excitingly. I am supporting my all time Portugal.
