Have you ever thought about the effects of eating Junk food and if you have, did you only think it was bad?
As a famous television program host, Jack Lalanne said, "You put junk in, junk comes out. If you put good in, good comes out.” In this blog, I’m going to tell you about how to stop eating a lot of junk food. Junk food doesn’t only mean chocolate or sweets, junk food includes fast food ( burger and pizza), oil food and all those food that are told by our schools to eat less. Now you might be looking at the title thinking that its click bate but it's not ( well you don’t die faster but there is a chance you might die.)
While smoking killed over 8 million people in 2019, around 11 million people died last year because of junk food. Don’t you think that’s all you need to stop eating junk food or at least consume it less? Do you know what are the consequences of eating less processed food? Anyways let's start with good effects that could happen to you.
Firstly, it helps lower blood pressure, if you eat 100 grams a day. Homemade popcorn is a good evening snack as it has lower calories than the ones you get from the cinemas. Dark chocolate is proven to be good for the heart and if it is paired with a whole wheat brownie and some nuts, it becomes rich in fibre as well. There are many kinds of whole wheat crackers available, which can be a good and healthy evening munch without the side-effects that other unhealthy snacks cause.
On the other hand, junk foods can be harmful to you. For instance, junk food can cause memory and learning problems. It makes you impatient and can cause you uncontrollable cravings. It increases the risk of dementia ( dementia is a general term for loss of memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life.) It can lead you to depression, which I surely don’t want. Just because a famous Youtuber does a challenge where he tries to gain 100kilos doesn’t mean you have to follow him and do it every day.
To be honest, I love junk foods and I have a small craving for them my favourite food is burgers and fries. My point I am trying to say is that don’t stop eating junk food but consume it less because if you eat a lot of processed foods you will become fat and unhealthy.
