Finding Calm In The Chaos

The COVID-19 pandemic has numerous dark sides. Around the world, people are dying, schools and colleges are closed, the healthcare system is overloaded, employees have lost their jobs, companies are facing bankruptcy, and the economic status of the country is also widely affected. Every citizen of the country is facing many difficulties. Subsequently, life has changed for all of us in every conceivable way. The isolation at home has a deeply negative impact on our mental health. No matter how serious and sad all of this is, but there are upsides as well, and we should look at the positive and bright side of this pandemic.

Despite all the hardships, we have adapted the challenging circumstances and learned to deal with them effectively. Our disciplines of hygiene have improved vastly. Unable to step out of the house except for essentials, the lockdown has taught us the differences between the essentials and non-essentials. We have realized that our true needs are quite simple. We are learning that the discipline of a structured routine is not just necessary for our education or social commitments, but also for giving our day-to-day lives a sense of purpose.



Having a schedule while we are confined to our homes is helping us increase productivity and keeping us in good spirits. We are also understanding the importance of technology which has made all the schooling and classes possible. Also, in the absence of domestic help, we are realising that it is possible to take care of the household chores ourselves. We are learning various new things like baking, keeping us as well as the house clean and tidy. It is a golden opportunity to learn new things like writing, painting, coding, making web pages, calligraphy, learning an instrument, and many more by taking up online free courses.

We are also learning to eat healthy things, i.e. from A JUNK VERSION TO A HEALTHY ONE. We can also keep us healthy and fit by doing plenty of exercises to maintain our physical health. This lockdown has also given us a chance to spend quality time with our families as it is not possible in our regular lives. So many families have transformed this lockdown situation into a family vacation of sorts. In so many households, domestic chores have become a fun family project so that the burden does not fall on one person. Even the kids have learned to make their own beds, tidying up their things, and helping in the family chores. In these difficult times, it is good to have light conversations and chit chat with our friends and relatives.

 All in all, the lockdown has offered a set of positives to us. We have become aware of our emotional needs and bonding with each other like never before. Let’s keep these positives going even after the pandemic has passed. Now I end by mentioning a beautiful quote which says,

“Better three hours too soon than a minute too late.”?
