Think You're Media & Information Literate? Put Your Knowledge to the Test!
Educators shape the future, but in today’s fast-paced digital world, are you equipped with the right skills to navigate misinformation, online safety, and responsible digital use? Take our specially designed survey for school principals and coordinators: How Well Do You Navigate the Classroom & School Policies?
A recent UNESCO survey revealed a startling truth—2 out of 3 digital content creators don’t fact-check before sharing but express a strong desire to learn how. This lack of Media and Information Literacy (MIL) presents a serious risk, not only to students but to society as a whole.
84% of people believe media literacy education should be mandatory in schools, and 90% support critical thinking instruction at the K-12 level (Media Literacy Now). Yet, despite growing awareness, MIL remains underrepresented in many curriculums, leaving gaps in essential skills needed for safe and responsible media consumption.
To address this pressing issue, Happier and Safer Internet (HSI), in collaboration with NexSchools, has designed a special survey for educators and school leaders. This initiative aims to assess the current state of MIL awareness and policy integration in schools while helping educators reflect on their own digital literacy skills.
