You may be surprised seeing the above title. Am I right? Because you might have heard A for ant, apple, axe, etc. Even I was also surprised when I saw this title for the first time. Let me tell you an incidence about this.
A few days ago, my mother asked me to read a story. But I told it’s boring. My mother scolded me and asked me to read the story. I started reading the story, gradually I found it interesting. When I finished reading the story, I felt very happy. This story was written by the great writer Sudha Murty. Let me share that story with you. The name of the story was ‘A’ for Honesty.
Sudha Murty’s son was studying in US. One day, he called his mother and told that he did not do his exams well. It is not that he did not know the answers. But instead of digit 8 he had written 6 and did the entire calculations based on it. So, he was very sad. His mother replied 'don’t be upset, exams are not the only index in life, keep courage and don’t be negligent, do well next time’.
After a few days, he called his mother again and told that ‘I got ‘A’ grade in that subject. She was surprised and asked how come? He told that after the exams once his professor called him and discussed about various topics. He expressed his happiness on their conversation. When I got the papers, I saw that I got some marks for the wrong answer. I went to the professor and informed, Sir by oversight you have given some marks for the wrong answer. His professor told I have not given these marks by mistake. Based on our regular interactions I came to know the depth of your knowledge, passion for subject and your honesty. So I gave these marks. With this incident he convinced that Being Honest is also very important in life.
With this story I realized that getting ‘A’ grade is important but being honest is even more important in our life. Then onwards I started reading more and more books.
