Children love to play and feel the different kinds of texture. Painting with colors gives children that imaginative creativity and freedom to touch feel different textures. It gives them an understanding of the different patterns and sequence. Sharing here water color and sponge painting ideas.

ABSTRACT ART WITH WATER COLOUR

It is very imaginative and the designs which we get in this painting are quite unique and different.  It involves colour scheming and pattern sequencing.

OBJECTIVE : (1) Child explores to materialize the imaginative pattern (2) Learns coordinative colour schemes (3) They learn to name these abstract pieces as what they look like (4) Different areas of paint need different pressure

REQUIREMENT : Water colour tubes, paper and sheets of paper

METHOD : (1) Take a sheet and fold into half (2) Now open the sheet you will get a line in center indicating halves.  On the one side of line put drops of thick colour in different places, so a figure can be made out of it (3) Now fold the paper apply little pressure on the drops, so colour spread in a horizontal way in some it will spread in a vertical way (4) Finally, when we open we will see a pattern and relate it to a certain figure

SPONGE PAINTING:

Children love to play with a sponge as it is smooth, flexible and can be squeezed
Cut the sponge into different shapes like dolphin or circle, square and triangle.  More even you get the different shaped sponge in market

REQUIREMENT :
Water colours: 2 small plates, different shape of sponge and a cloth to wipe hands.

METHOD :
(1) Dab sponge in a different colour according to the figure to be made
(2) After dapping the sponge, put the sponge where the figure has to made and press, the colour will come
(3) Sponge can be used extensively in varied shapes and design.  To teach shapes this is an effective technique.
