Amtes animal ark

About 350 kilometres from Nagpur lies the village of Hemalkasa in the interiors of Maharashtra. I have heard that this tiny village is home to a very big joint family. It's so big that it's home to about 90 kids. And the population of kids is steadily on the rise. Guys, I want to meet their daring parents. How are they able to do all this? They are none other than Dr. Prakash and Mandakini Amte.

Amte's animal ark is spread across a 50-acre land in Hemalkasa. This ark has been home to several wild animals for the 45 years. Be it from feeding them or taking care of them, the Amte family does it all. But, if you think that only harmless wild animals like Deer and Peacocks live here, then you are wrong, because this family has more than that. From ferocious leopard to bear and crocodile and to venomous snakes, this family has all of it. Wow! I have heard that there lies great strength in love but wild animals becoming one's family thanks to love is something I'm getting to see for the first time.

Friends, I don't know if Mr. Amte is more courageous or compassionate but he sure possesses the values his father imparted to him. Mrs. Amte, who already had two kids had become a mother to dozens of wild animals. But showering them with motherly love only added to it. According to her,"Seeing the pathetic state of the young ones made me feel very bad because they had lost their mothers. They had no mothers. So, how would they have grown up? A mother loves all her children equally be it an animal or a human being." Hearing these words of hers gave me gooseflesh. Mother, I salute you. And the most amazing thing is that Dr. Amte wants to keep his culture of joint family alive even after he passes away. Even his grandchildren have learnt the language of love and compassion.

Friends, I have to say this. The Amte family has not only taught wild animals the language of love but also set an example for India pertaining to humanity. People follow different religions in our country but as long as such Indians are present among us who deem humanity the greatest religion India will continue to be an unique country.
