Hello there, welcome back to another blog! “ Books are just T.V for smart people.” In this blog you will get to know all about ‘em. So if you are reading a book by any chance, keep it aside for a minute and start reading!
The Start: Books have been in our lives since ancient times. They have been used for telling stories, writing archives and sharing information of our world. Books are believed to be originated a long, long, long time ago. Although there is no exact date of the invention of books, archeologists say they originated between 618 and 907 AD. One of the first ‘books’ were ancient scrolls, going back to the 4th millennium BCE. These were highly used by Egyptians. Then in the 1st century CE came the books more similar to our modern books. These were created by the Romans. These books had parchment paper and wooden covers.
Printing: As the popularity of books was increasing, the world turned into a more efficient way of making them… printing! Printing started in China, during the Tang Dynasty. The earliest printed book was the Diamond Sutra, created between the 2nd and 5th century CE. Then, during the 15th century, Johannes Gutenberg invented the very first printing press, in 1439 CE. The mechanical device printed books, newspapers and pamphlets. Then came the ‘sewing method’ of making books, and then came glue bound books. After the invention of phones, Ebooks made an appearance in 1971. This is the whole history of books and it goes a long way.
How they are important to us: Books are considered as our friends because they take us into a unique world of imagination. Books can be important to us in the following ways:

“A book is a gift you can open again and again” said Garrison Keillor. I personally think that books are our best friends, especially in this pandemic. A room without books is like a body without a soul. I hope this blog inspires you to read more and more books.
Until we meet again … Sayonara!
