Taekwondo derived from Korean language means “The art of hand and foot fighting “I could see into the eyes of my little CMIS children. The excitement and enthusiasm that they were going to learn something new. Only thing they knew about Taekwondo was, they were going to learn a ‘MARTIAL ART’.
As the first class began children enjoyed as it was full of fun. From the beginning the children were disciplined, they stood in a straight line. Later I began with an introduction of Taekwondo and their commands. I said “Chingsho “, “che ryuht”, “khyongrey” and “choon bi” and what did I see ? The children bursted out laughing but the excitement began when they were thrilled with an introduction of each punch that the command described.
Today I have successfully instilled the discipline required for only ‘Martial art’ so that they can overcome any challenge though we failed; success smiled at us with open arms and said we can do it! Taekwondo makes me feel great as it’s just not a sport or a hobby. It has boosted my self confidence to stay fit and active. It makes me proud to implement the same in my CMIS children. I couldn’t dream of myself not doing Taekwondo. I tried my best and worked better than my best.
So does my CMIS children. Still brushing my skills with advance techniques. I will implant the same in my CMIS children and I assure you Taekwondo will play an important role in moulding their lives.
