Friends let’s start with a question “A for...” what would the first word that comes in your mind. I am sure its “APPLE” but why we are not in LKG still we know many other words than apple that start with A, but still we said apple and why is that? Because from birth onwards it was coded in our mind that a stands for “apple”. We had to speak the same word a year then had to write it in the exam……
But is it right? I feel that way of teaching is completely wrong. All of you would agree that all the children’s are different so why to treat them all of them the same way and even if we all treat them the same way why such method of education system…..because it basically is just coding and stuffing something in the brain of the children .if I put it in other way our education system acts as a machine and students play the role of raw products , but in this case the machine just tries to produce the same product and those who can’t cope with it are rejected. That’s what happening. If a child is good at sports let him do it, if he is good at drawing let him do it, but the basic idea that is prevailing in our society is that a person is judged to be talented ,intelligent, skillful on the basis of MARKS, not on what he or she is capable of doing. In today’s world everyone is asked to do the same thing if they are not interested to do it or even if they can’t do it but why????because in our society we have defined a term SUCCESSFUL as one who gets good marks in an exam and one who becomes an engineer or doctor….but is that correct we can call a sweeper as a successful person if he becomes the best at his work.
What I am trying to say is the old methodologies will gradually stop working and we to adopt new ones, now what would these new one’s be. They are one simple thing let the child explore his path rather than shortening his path and asking him to go in a particular direction.
