A hobby is a creative activity that we do in our free time. Our childhood is spend in our routine where most of our time is spend in school and homework when we get back. Each one of us have a craving for doing something different.

There are large number of hobbies like gardening, singing, reading etc. My favorite hobby is reading. I have been attracted to books from a very early age. After the daily routine I enjoy taking up a book to read. It relaxes my tired mind and body and at the same time always teaches me something new. I enjoy reading the newspaper, poetry, comics etc. In fact watching television is boring. I enjoy reading books in travelling and short stories. Reading is not just my hobby but the books I read are my best friends.

Whenever we go shopping my mother never fails to enter books shop. She picks up a whole lot of books for me which includes story books and activity books. Reading helps us increasing our knowledge and also helps us to build our vocabulary. There have been many times when my friends have quarreled with me and I am left alone. At such time book keeps me good company and I do not miss my friends. There is a lot of time during the day and this time should not be spent wastefully.

Time is precious. Time gone by will never come again. Hence, one must find a good hobby to make its time and life meaningful.
