Create Your Group and Talk to Parents. Participate, discuss or just talk about your school
When talking to a friend about anger, you can often sound like you are accusing or attacking your friend, even if you don't mean to. You might say something like,"You're always picking on me for the clothes I wear-and you know l hate it!"You were trying to talk about how you felt. But instead, it turned into a blame game.
A great way to express yourself in these situations is through I- statements. These are non threatening statements that say what you feel without blaming the other person.
An I- Statement has three parts. It goes something like this
I Feel ( fill in the blank)
When you ( fill in the blank)
Because ( fill in the blank)
Here's an example. Instead of saying "You are always picking on me for the clothes I wear --- and you know I hate it!" You can say I feel hurt when you make fun of my clothes because I really can't afford clothes that are more expensive."
