Once upon a time there was a little girl who lived in a small village with her mother in a crooked hut. They were very poor. Her name was Lilly. Lilly’s mother used to work very hard to earn for a living. She used to work in a rich house, but the people of that house were very cruel and always used to show off their clothes, jewels, facilities etc. They used to force Lilly’s mother to work hard day and night and always gave her little money. The youngest daughter of the owner of the house was Cherry. She was the youngest of all but, had a big heart and loved Lilly’s mother the most. Pink was the second daughter and she was always conscious about her health. The eldest one was Marine. Like her name, she was very fond of fishes, sharks, whales and she believed in mermaids. She was so interested in ocean life that in her room she had a big aquarium. On her every birthday, her father would gift her a new kind of a fish.
One day, when Christmas came. Prosperity was all over the country. But in Lilly’s home there was peace all over. Her mother was not there with her at that time. She felt lonely, then suddenly there was a gentle knock on the door. Lilly opened the door and in front of her was a little boy standing, shivering with cold. Lilly took pity on him and allowed him to come in. He looked like a 5 -year old boy. Lilly gave him some rice grains to eat and a cup of hot milk. She tried to converse with him, but the merciless cold and snowfall caused the boy fever. By the time Lilly was taking care of the boy, her mother came. She saw the ill boy and allowed him to stay there. Both mother and daughter took good care of the boy.
Next morning, when Lilly and her mother woke up there was no sign of the boy. They were perplexed and thought that the boy had made a fool of them. He enjoyed their hospitality and disappeared like a wind.
The mother thought that the boy must have been in a hurry for he couldn’t bid goodbye to us. It’s been 2 weeks since the boy had disappeared mysteriously from the house. Both the women had already forgotten about that unusual incident but then one day….
When Lily came back after attending the school, she found a small box at the doorstep. The box was wrapped in a gift paper, with lots of glitter and shimmer in it. It was quite attractive. And as children would do, Lily immediately opened the box and inside it there was a piece of paper and it said,
“Dear Little lady,
Thank you very much for your hospitality. It’s been so grateful to meet a girl like you. That day, I did not run away but it was the God who had called me from the heaven. He said that the time has come for I shall return to my home. Please do not misunderstand me.
Yours humbly Someone”
Well, Lily was confused a little bit but she had understood that ,that someone was a special one. And as usual a fairytale would end, I’ll have to say that Lily and her mother, of course lived happily ever after!!
