School trips and picnics are one of the best experiences which we carry out of our school life. School trips offer a great opportunity for the overall personality development of a child. These includes qualities like team work, leadership etc. There is also a sense of responsibility and belongingness that emerges, which is important to build a strong personality of a child. School trips are full of fun. Apart from the school friends and experiences we have during the school time the memories of school trips are also one to be cherished life time. The amount of fun which we have during the school trips can’t be expressed even by all the combinations of English alphabets.
School picnic, a day which every child eagerly awaits for the whole year. This year our trip was to Mysore and Ooty and this was the second time I visited Mysore as school trip but this time with different set of friends. The first time I had been to mysore was when I was in fifth standard. It was the first time I was away from my parents for 2 days.
This year it was an overnight journey. On the day of picnic, we reported school by 8 pm. Students were divided into three groups with 30 students in each group. Teachers started counting and then we left by 9pm. Singing, dancing we travelled the road till midnight. Then we reached our destination i.e. Mysore by 6am in the morning. We were given an hour time to fresh up. Then we had our breakfast and boarded the bus. Our first site was Chammundi Hills. It is the prime landmark of Mysore city, visible from anywhere in the city.It has an important place in the history of Mysore. Then we left for the next stop i.e. Zoo. We saw various kinds of animals and birds. Honestly, neither me nor my friends were interested in seeing the animals. We were just eagerly looking for the exit gate. After this we went back to our hotel, had lunch and took rest for a while and then left for our next spot which was Mysore Palace. Mysore Palace is the central piece of Mysore's attraction. The interior of Mysore Palace is richly carved, intricate, colourful and architecturally thrilling.By this time we had snacks and then left for KRS dam. The Brindavan garden attached to this was beautiful and we enjoyed the beauty of greenery there. By 7pm there were beautiful light shows. The musical and the colourful fountain was the most beautiful attraction. Then finally we reached our hotel. We had our dinner and we stayed overnight in Mysore. Teachers had instructed us to be ready by 3:15am next morning. But back to our rooms we sang, danced and played all night, somehow got up by 3am in the morning and then by 3:45am we left for Ooty. The weather was chilling and most of us were sleepy. By 7:30am we had our breakfast and the routes to Ooty, also called "The Queen of hill station" were beautiful and the view from the windows were just awesome! Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes. Natural beauty, flora and fauna found here attracts the tourists most. Then finally by noon we reached our destination. We visited Benchmark tea factory which is one of the high productive tea factories and also produces chocolates and various kinds of Nilgiri oil. We had a detailed tour in the tea factory and were also offered with a cup of tea. After this we had lunch and then went to Botanical garden. The garden is divided into various parts and we started exploring the garden and enjoying its beauty. Finally we reached our last spot i.e. Shooting Point and the scene from the top was beautiful. After this we came back to our hotel and had dinner. We left the place by 12 in midnight. Most of us were exhausted and almost everyone was asleep in the bus while returning.
This was one of the best experience I ever had. I actually leart a lot many things. I recognised my strengths which I myself was not aware of.
So, finally all's well that ends well.
