Hi there, and welcome back to another blog! Do you like cars? I love them like crazy! I still have my childhood Hotwheels cars with me, and I make cars out of Lego bricks as well. I can recognize any car by just the head or tail lights, even at night! I could go on for days, but let us come back to the topic. In today’s blog, I am going to list out my top 5 favourite cars. Let’s start.
Lamborghini Veneno: Top on the list, is Lamborghini Veneno, one of the fastest cars that ever existed. Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by Ferrucio Lamborghini, an Italian manufacturer. If he was alive today, he would be super proud by looking at this devil of a car. The Veneno takes the aerodynamic efficiency of a racing prototype onto everyday roads. It has a V12 6.5 litre engine, has 740 horsepower and also has a top speed of 355 km/h. The interior consists of carbon fiber detailing and leather seats. How cool is that? The exterior is just as cool. It has crazy aerodynamics, with an arrow-shaped front and sharp edges to cut through the wind. However, it costs around 4.5 million (well, I can’t say I’m surprised, looking at the detailing and its speed. Also, it’s a Lamborghini at the end of the day. Totally expected). Only problem is, this thing has very low ground clearance because it’s a sports car, and it will probably be damaged on an Indian road in about 5 seconds.
Fun Fact: Lamborghini used to make and sell tractors before cars.
Rolls Royce Ghost: It is one of the most expensive cars in the world. Why? Oh, boy are there multiple reasons for that. Let’s get some general knowledge first. Rolls Royce is a British manufacturing company founded by the Royce brothers in 1904. They first started making cranes, then slowly moved on to cars. During the first World War, they began manufacturing jet engines in 1940.
The Ghost is based on a car launched by Rolls Royce in 1906, called the “Silver Ghost”. It has a 6.7 litre V12 engine and has a horsepower of 420. It is also a VIP transport vehicle, and is completely bulletproof. Have you any idea why it’s called the Ghost? Simple; because it is a literal ghost. It is the most silent vehicle in the world, and it is NOT electric. It does not make a sound even if you rev it up.
And now comes the big part (this might take a while, so keep a bowl of popcorn and a cup of tea with you, and continue).
Why is this thing expensive? I’ll tell you. One of the reasons is that it has a digital driver display, showing the speedometer, engine condition and fancy gadgets like suspension control, automatic climate control and what-not control. It also has a power steering and passenger airbags. It has carbon fiber detailing in the inside, as well as custom designs (if you want them). It also has a silver plated angel on the bonnet, the symbol of Rolls Royce. The angel also goes down into the bonnet if someone tries to grab it (Ha!). It has fog lights at the front, milk-white and really bright. It has star lights on the roof, available with every model. Oh, and it also comes with Rolls Royce luggage bags. I bet all of your jaws must have dropped a kilometer.
Fun Fact: During development, the Rolls Royce Ghost was known as RR04.
Bugatti Divo: Now this thing is another devil. The Divo is a track-focused sports car developed and manufactured by Bugatti Automobiles. Bugatti is a French company founded by Ettore Bugatti in 1909. Bugatti is a sports car manufacturing company, and is known for their design beauty and race victories.
The Bugatti Divo is named after a famous French racing driver, Albert Divo. He worked for Bugatti and helped them to win many races. The Divo has a W16 quad-turbocharged engine, with a top speed of 380km/h. This thing has 1479 horsepower! 1479! I’ll take an hour to even count that high! It has a carbon-fiber detailing in the interior as well as exterior. The Divo was launched in August 2020, but due to the coronavirus, deliveries were delayed. Don’t worry, they have started deliveries now. Oh, and this thing costs 8 million dollars. Yeah, totally expected.
Fun fact: Only 40 Bugatti Divos are made at a time.
Land Rover Defender: Range Rover, or Land Rover, is a British car manufacturing company founded by Maurice Wilks in 1947. The Land Rover Defender was launched in 2020, and is based on an old model that was launched in 1970. The Defender is also known as Defender 90 and has a V8 engine, has 221 horsepower and has a top speed of 149 mph. Like most SUV’s are mostly made for roads (even though they technically shouldn’t), the Defender is a dedicated off-roader. It comes with two storage trunks on the sides, a rack on the top and an extra wheel. Basically, it is ready for the mountains at any time. Its interior is almost fully leather. The seats are leather, the steering wheel is leather, the dashboard is leather, even the doors are leather. The only thing that is not leather is the speedometer and screen.
Fun fact: The Defender has a foldable dickey seat, thus making room for three in the front.
Mercedes Maybach S–Class: Okay, this one is absolutely bonkers. The Mercedes Maybach S-Class is a concept vehicle (yes, concept!) to be launched in 2022. Mercedes Benz is a German luxury automobile company founded by Karl Benz in 1926. Maybach is a part of Mercedes that specializes in cars that have modern technology and modern looks.
It is like a limousine, except it only has four seats, and is not a casual road vehicle, but is specially made for VIPs. It looks like a normal vehicle from the outside, but do not be fooled. It is a mansion inside! It has just two seats in the back, because it has armrests on them. It has blue lighting around the sides, and has a cup holder that has an adjustable temperature control. It has an anti-lock braking system and a sleek-looking screen. The car is complete with the similar features from the Rolls Royce Ghost. This is also why the S-class is in competition with the Ghost.
Fun Fact: The S- Class is specially being made for India
