This summer vacation I was travelling to Hyderabad to meet my family. My husband accompanied me to the station. While we were waiting for the train, we saw few confident young kids mostly in their 20’s planning how they are going to enjoy their holidays when they get home. They were sharing a chips packet and when it was over, they directly threw the wrapper on the rail tracks although there was a dustbin few feet away.
We did not like what we saw, is this what an educated person would do? I asked my husband.
He replied saying “They are just Literate but not Educated”
While I was travelling this incident ran through my thoughts. I was trying to figure out why this happens in our day to day life. Why do people do not realise indirectly they are polluting their society.
Schools play a major role in educating the young India by various means. It is also the responsibility of parents to educate their kids about keeping their surrounding clean. Kids learn from their parents, if parents start using dustbins, reduce the use of plastic and reconsider before polluting, the kid will learn the same. And the Knowledge gets passed on to their friends as well.
Social etiquettes should not be limited to how we behave when others are watching, we should not act different or irresponsible even if no one is watching.
Let’s be Responsible and build a better Society.
