How WED celebrated?

Worldwide awareness programs are conducted for the protection of our pleasant environment. Nearly 143 countries have annually participated in World Environment Day. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to advocate the causes of environment pollution.

When WED Strated?

The celebration of World Environment Day was first held in 1974 in Spokane, United States. Slowly it spread all over the world. From 2005 onwards, the WED was celebrated with the theme. In this year, the WED is going to celebrate with the theme of ‘Connecting People to Nature – in the city and on the land, from the poles to the equator' and going to be host at Canada.

Why WED celebrated worldwide?

The huge environmental issues were addressed in the celebration of WED. The main objectives of WED campaign are:

• Creating awareness among the general public regarding the environmental issues.
• Developing the participation of general public will be a success in creating safety measures of an environment.
• The adverse inhabit of society people should be changed towards issues of the environment.
• Developing the idea of safe, clean and prosperous surrounding nearby everyone.
