Volunteering abroad |
Care & Community |
As a volunteer you will need to work with children in orphanages; helping the kids to learn life-skills that parents generally impart. By getting involved in the day-to-day running of a care center ensuring children are fed, washed and dressed, and giving each of them personal attention you are molding he lives of young people, preparing them better for a better future.
You might like to be part of a team working on community projects such as building classrooms, community centers, or playgrounds, painting and decorating children's wards, teaching basic skills like dance music and needlecraft etc.
The volunteers need not be qualified or possess any previous experience. But zeal, enthusiasm, and willingness to get involved plus adequate patience are the major qualities which you must have.
For instance, if you choose India then you could volunteer to serve in the orphanages, homes for the dying, homes for destitute and sick, run by Missionaries of Charity (founded by late mother Teresa) and /or even the SOS Children’s Villages which are located all over India. |
